Why Linen ?  Why Ramie

One of the reasons for using organic cotton is that it is not sprayed with Toxic chemicals. We beleive that to begin the process we must care that no one is harmed. Linen grows freely without pesticide use.

Linen is made from Flax or sometimes  Ramie (nettle). Sometimes Linen made from Ramie is called Ramie.

If you are happy with a linen 'look', then have a look crossweaves section - Grey Marl and linen look which is a really fab linen look cotton.

Don't skip this bit!!   A few notes to guide you -

Unfinished fabrics will be firm and have not been washed or preshrunk. generally about 160 wide
Fabrics marked C, are generally clearance fabrics, hence the low price. Bought from fashion houses etc- we cannot tell much about the origin or process other than the fabric is made from linen or ramie.
Fabrics marked 'bio' have undergone an enzyme wash which gives a softness and small irregularity and character to the fabric, it may have slight streaking. These will usually be arpound 140 wide.
Handwoven Linens are made by Genesh for us, they have character and grain and are usually not as wide (around 110 to 120 wide)
