ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY

ORGANIC COTTON

Organic Cotton has been in the fabric supply business for over 30 years.  In the past 5 years the business has changed to supplying a range of organic cotton fabrics to the trade and public.  The organic standards used for sourcing cotton products ensure that pesticides are not used in the production of raw cotton and that dyes used have a minimal environmental impact.  Through working with producers we aim to ensure that the producers are paid a fair price for the products to provide a good standard of living for the producer.

• We will only source cotton products from accredited sources to ensure the organic status of the cotton products.
• We will source productswhere possible from producers registered with the Agrocel scheme to ensure fair trade principles
• We are committed to promoting fair trade organic cotton products to reduce the environmental impacts of cotton products on the planet as a whole
• We are committed to raising the welfare standards of our producers, which in turn promotes high standards of environmental protection during the growing, harvesting and processing of cotton products
• We will assess the producers who supply us to ensure compliance with the organic and fair trade status of the products

We encourage feedback on our environmental performance from interested parties

We will communicate this policy to any employees and persons working on our behalf and make it publicly available.

This policy will be reviewed no less often than annually and updated as necessary.
