Shipping costs are shown towards the end of your purchase. We try and keep costs as low as possible.

We absorb some costs of shipping but may need occasionally to ask for extra if you live in a remote area, or in special circumstances such as a bulky order or for sale items where fabrics are sold at below cost.

Postage costs for samples orders, without fabric cuts, are between £1 to £5. 

Goods are covered by insurance only up to the value of  £25 - please ask if you want higher insurance. 

We don't send letters or small parcels insured or trackedPlease ask if you want tracking or insurance and we will advise the cost. 

Wholesale customers will pay courier at cost.   

How we send things


UK orders under 1kg are sent via Royal Mail 1st Class, which normally takes 1-2 working days. Parcels over 2kg are sent with a tracked courier service usually 2-5 working days. Let us know if you would like another service.


Parcels under 2kg are sent as an International Standard parcel with Royal Mail, which normally takes 3-5 working days, although they have been known to take a bit longer than that. Over 2kg parcels are sent with a standard tracked courier which takes usually 3-5 working days. Let us know if you would like another service.

If your order is going to a country other than: The UK, Republic of Ireland, Germany, France, The Netherlands, Austria, Italy or Spain:

We will need to calculate your shipping charge after you have placed your order. We will be in contact by email to confirm charges and invoice you separately after we have received your order.

Customs, Taxes and Duties

We are very happy to accept orders from Europe and the rest of the world. If your order is being delivered outside of the UK please be aware that in some cases you may have to pay import duty or other taxes. This is not the responsibility of the Organic Textile Company so please check these details before placing an order, thank you.

Please give us a call to discuss possible options. Remember that the courier will not be held liable for expenses you may incur due to late delivery. 

Non Delivery of Goods

If by any chance your order does not turn up after 28 days from date of placing it please let us know ASAP and we will do everything we can to sort it for you.


We always stress the importance of ordering a sample before purchasing your fabric so you have an actual idea of the colour, feel and type of fabric. All the pictures on the website are as accurate as we can make them, but the colours can display differently on various devices.

As with any item you buy online as a customer your rights are as stated below:-

Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, you may cancel your order and obtain a full refund if you request a cancellation within 14 days of receipt of the goods (or if your order contains a number of items that are delivered separately, from receipt of the last item).

Faulty / damaged goods

We do our best to ensure every item sent out will be in good condition and not damaged.

We have mill made fabric and handmade fabric.

Handmade fabric differs from machine made fabric, it may have irregularities, small repairs, it may shrink, one batch may be different from the next.

Please take an extra moment with inspection before cutting and making up if you are using our handmade fabrics.

Batches can also vary slightly for mill made fabrics.

The “Blank” items are hand made and sizes can vary slightly, but we try to send out matching ones, i.e. Cushion covers, muslin cloths.

All items are wrapped well for transport and we use a number of different courier companies.

Any faulty fabric will be replaced within 6 months of purchase date as long as no changes, alterations or usage of the fabric has been made.

Change of Mind

Sometimes you can buy something and when it arrives, it’s “just not quite right”. We understand this.

For most products bought online you can change your mind within 60 days and receive a refund.

Products should be returned in the original packaging, in a reusable condition, not damaged in any way and wrapped / packed as to ensure no damage during transportation.

Please note some products cannot be returned simply because you have changed your mind. These include remnant packs, end of roll fabrics, samples, special and clearance fabrics.

Any product must be returned:

(a) in a reusable condition, not damaged in any way

(b) in the supplied packaging or as delivered

(c) the full amount purchased, no amount cut or used

To receive a credit note or replacement fabric to the same value all the above points must be met.

Proof of Posting

For your own protection, we strongly advise you to obtain a proof of posting or shipping certificate from a courier when returning goods. Goods which are returned to us but are lost in shipping remain your responsibility. A proof of postage will assist you in tracking any shipment.
